For those with Morquio syndrome, a rare form of dwarfism, meeting others with the condition provides a vital link for sharing experiences, knowledge and friendship. Nemours recently hosted a patient and family conference, its fourth, which offered both social and educational value. Among the updates presented was Nemours research that shows promise in slowing or preventing the progression of bone and cartilage disease.

Our purpose is to host an annual conference for the global Morquio community, promoting community, education, and research, as well as specific issues the community wishes to address. Through meeting one another, developing friendships, and engaging with the medical community, it is our hope that we can draw strength in our union and develop a voice to improve our social as well as physical well being...
